Poverty Reduction Strategy Credit (PRSC)

The Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC) for Albania develops and implements fiscally sustainable policies within the framework of the Government's three-year Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy (GPRS, or National Strategy for Economic and Social Development) that supports a higher quality of life--especialy for the poor, and that is consistent with and supportive of the country's overall growth strategy. This operation supports more effective and efficient policy formulation and implementation, improved access to social services and better targeting of scarce fiscal resources to those most in need, and policies conducive to sustained growth. The PRSC is a single tranche adjustment operation.**
